Snappy Summer Card

Hello! It's Yainea!

To make this card, first I started by stamping, coloring with alcohol markers and die cutting all the elements from the Sand, Sun and Fun set, using the coordinating dies. Then, I created the background, I colored 3 different panels using Distress inks and a blending tool.

I sprinkled some white ink over the water panel and some light brown ink over the sand panel to add texture. Then I die cut the water and sand panels using the Water Waves dies and finally, I adhered all the panels and images together to create my summery scene :).

Thank you for visiting the blog and I hope I've inspired you to create a beach card!

Happy Summer Slider Card

Hey, crafty friends - Happy Monday!

It's Angie, here and today, I'm sharing the second of two interactive slider cards which I created for Making Cards and Papercrafts Magazine's August edition. I'm using a variety of stamps and dies today to create this bright and sunny card.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I cut an A6 panel out of some Bristol cardstock. I used our paper tape to create two horizontal masks, cut with our Water Waves dies. Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Scattered Straw were then used to create the sky, waves and sand.

I let everything dry, and moved onto stamping and colouring my hamster and beach images, which are from the Squeak Cheeks and Sand, Sun and Fun stamp set. Then, I cut everything out using the coordinating dies for each set. I also cut out a white cloud using the Sparkle Bright die set and then adhesive foams were placed on the back to give everything some dimension.
I then created the round hamster ball for my slider element, by covering some vellum with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink, and white heat embossed the ball image on top. To make the slider, I die cut a straight slot out of the sand and inlaid the piece back into its aperture, sticking it down with tape runner.

To add a little sparkle, I gold heat embossed a sentiment saying 'happy summer', with superfine embossing powder. This was actually my first time using gold, and I think it turned out so nice against the sand.

Next, on the back of the ink blended panel, I created a foam adhesive 'track' for a small coin to slide on. I stuck adhesive foams onto one side of the coin, and made sure that side was poking up through the slot. The panel was then adhered down onto a cardbase and closed up with the vellum ball, and the hamster on top. To finish the card, I then placed the rest of the die cut images onto the beach.

That finishes off today's card! Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed my fun and interactive double slider card! Summer Secret Double Slider Card

Hello, crafty friends!

It's Angie, here. Today, I'm sharing the first that I made for Making Cards and Papercraft Magazine's August edition! I love incorporating interactive elements, so, I've created a fun secret double slider card using simple rounded rectangle dies.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

I started out by using the dies to cut panels out of Bristol cardstock. I cut out several pieces -- seven larger panels which measured about 10 x 8cm and four smaller ones measuring 8.5 x 6.5cm. Grabbing two of the smaller panels, and one larger, I set the rest aside.

For some added interest, I cut some cloud shaped masks out of some paper tape using the Sparkle Bright metal die set. The masks were then places on one of the smaller panels, and covered entirely with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink, and a soft make up brush. I set that to the side to dry, and continued with the larger panel.

The paper tape came in handy again, to create two masks using our Water Waves dies. I placed them down to create the sky, sea and sand on the panel. The last smaller panel was then covered all over with Scattered Straw. Everything was left to dry, and it was time to stamp, colour and die cut the images using the Squeak Cheeks stamps and dies, plus the Sand, Sun and Fun stamps and dies.

After placing adhesive foams on the back of the images, I gold heat embossed a 'hello sunshine' sentiment and reinforced the panels with the remaining rectangle die cuts for extra strength. I then created my sliding element with a plastic sleeve, adhesive tape and foams and the other panels. Finally, I stuck down the images onto the front panel of the card.

Aaaaand that's it for today! Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoy my card! Stay tuned for my next post, I'll be showing the second card I made for Making Cards and Papercrafts Magazine!

Magical Day Card

Hello! It's Yainea, here!

To make this Magical Day card, I created the background using pink watercolors and a shimmering spray all over the paper once it was dry. Then I used the Stargazer stencil with embossing paste and sprinkled chunky glitter on top.

While the background dried, I stamped and colored the cute chubby unicorn from the Sparkle Bright stamp set, die cut it using the coordinating die set and heat embossed the clouds using silver embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment on a white panel with cloudy border and then I put everything together. I adhered two stripes of silver glittery cardstock, another cloudy border cut out of vellum and some twine.

I hope you feel inspired to create a unicorn card! Thank you so much for visiting and have a nice day!!

Masked and Stencilled Crafty Friends Card

Hey everyone Ashlee here....

It's time to share some new "Hello Sweetums" inspiration and this time my card uses the super awesome stamp set "Crafty Companions" and co-ordinating dies....

To start this card off I stamped a whole heap of the cute little glue bottles all over my card base with the Hello Sweetums clear round acrylic stamping block and then masked them all with some tape.

Then using some ink and a heart stencil I created a fun background around my images.

Once I'd finished all the inking I splattered with some Opaque white paint for a fun effect....

It was then time to remove all the masks to reveal the panel!!

I coloured up the glue bottles with a little bit of C Copic markers just to give some shading...

I Added a fun sentiment from the crafty companions set along with a die cut layered friends cut and finished it off with some sequins!!

There we have a simple card for a crafty friend....

Hope you like it, have fun creating with your Hello Sweetums goodies,
Hugz Ashlee

You're So Sweet in Pink Card

Hey my crafty friends....

Ashlee here and I have some "Hello Sweetums" inspiration to share with you all using a super adorable set from the brand new release "Baking Buddies" (co-ordinating dies also available)!!

I just adore this set, it's full of the most cutest little mice and baking goodies/tools....

For the base of this card I used Neenah desert storm, it's one of my fave cardstocks...

Using a stencil I ink blended some worn lipstick distress oxide ink on the base and then using the same stencil i heat embossed on the small rectangular panel with white WOW! diamond white embossing powder.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the little image and arranged them on the rectangle die cut piece with foam tape for dimension....

I added the "you're so sweet" sentiment also from the baking buddies set....

A touch of some beautiful sequins from Catherine Pooler finished the card off with a but of sequin sparkle!!

I hope you enjoy this card, Happy crafting...
