Hopping By To Say Hello Card

Hi everyone!

Rina here with a Honey Bunnies card. I love all the sets for the March release, but these Honey Bunnies stole my heart. I wanted to use as MANY as possible! They are so unique, chubby and fabulous!

I wanted to use an Easter color palette, so I kept it with a fresh green color and pink. I used a hillside die and tucked in the carrot bunches into the hills and I just adore the tiny grass stamps. They add so much texture to the hillside and fill space.

The hills were blended with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink and the sky is in Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink. I try to blend the sky into white so I use very little ink to achieve this look. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder. For sentiments, it is better to use the fine detail powder for a crisp look.

Here are the Copic Marker colors I used for the images:
Pink – RV00, RV02, RV04
Gray – C00, C1, C3
Orange – YR01, YR02
Green – BG15
I hope you try this out, thank you for stopping by!

Chimp-ly Marvelous Clear Embossed Card

Hello! Yainea here. Today I'm sharing my card using the Hello Sweetums Funky Monkeys stamp and die set and the Fronds Forever stencil.

First I used the Fronds Forever stencil and some clear embossing paste to create my background. While it dried, I colored my card base with a pair of Distress Inks and my blending tool. Then I stamped, colored with alcohol markers and die cut the pair of monkeys, bananas branch and a bunch of leaves.
For the sentiment, I cut two stripes out of black cardstock and stamped it with embossing ink, then I heat embossed it using white embossing powder. When the background was completely dry, I cut it with an angle to create the diagonal hole and arranged all the elements together.

Thank you for reading!

Flippin' Awesome Mermaid Card

Hey everyone.... Ashlee here.

I am so super in love with all the gorgeous new products now available at Hello Sweetums.. I wanted to pop in and share a card with you that I made using the Seas the Day set along with the co-ordinating dies. It's full of gorgeous little mermaids and a merman along with lots of sea accessories and perfect sentiments!!

I created a fun background for this one using NUVO shimmer powders...and mounted it behind a die cut base using a seashell shaker die from Studio Katia that I thought would match perfectly for the mermaids!!

The fun scene was made using the accessories by stamping in different shades of ink... Once the base was all done I added the mermaid, merman, seahorse and little fish that I had coloured with Copics to the card base using some foam tape to pop them up.

Finished off with a fun sentiment and of course a few more sequins!

Thanks for checking out my card, I hope you have enjoyed it and don't forget to pop on over to the Hello Sweetums shop and check out all the new awesome release!

Masked Ocean Card

Hi, crafty friends!

It's Angie here, and today I've got a CAS masked ocean card for you! Featuring the new Seas the Day stamps and coordinating dies. You can find this card in the April edition of Making Cards Magazine, alongside this second masked card.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

I started with masking off a standard A6 card with a couple of strips of our paper tape, and covered the area with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks, using blending tools and foams.

After removing the paper tape, I stamped, coloured and die cut a few images from the Seas the Day set and adhered them together with a combination of tape runner and foam adhesives.

The 'starfish wishes' sentiment was then stamped onto the right under the ocean band, and the die cut images stuck down into place. Lastly, little 'bubbles' were added next to the mermaid with droplets of Glossy Accents, and left overnight to dry clear.

Here is the list of supplies used to make the card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Seas the Day
• Hello Sweetums die set, Seas the Day

Ocean Background Three Ways with Laura Volpes

Hi everyone! It's Laura, from A bit of my crafts, and today I am guesting here on the Hello Sweetums blog with a post showing three quick and easy ways to create ocean backgrounds! I really love Angie's cute design and I am so happy to be a guest designer today!

For all three cards I used the Oceans of Encouragement stamp set. I stamped the images with hybrid black ink and colored them with Copic markers. I die cut them with the coordinating dies and added a few details with a white gel pen.

I then went ahead and created my ocean backgrounds.

For the first one I used Distress Inks and the Ink Smooshing technique. I started by pressing the ink pads over my work surface to release the pigment, which I diluted with some water from a spray bottle. I then picked up the inks with a piece of acetate and brought the acetate to my paper, to create this fun, splashy look.

The colors I used are Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass. I added them in layers, making sure to dry each layer with a heat tool between applications. The cardstock I used is Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock, which I die cut with an A2 stitched rectangle die.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over some black cardstock and glued everything to the card front. For an extra dimensional touch I also added Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew to the air bubbles.

And that is it for card number one!

For my second card I used again the ink smooshing technique, but this time around I used Distress Oxides on glossy cardstock. This is a very fun technique and it has such a wow effect! You definitely need to try it!

I used Distress Oxides in Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. I first applied them to my Ranger Glossy Cardstock like I described for the first card (it's important that you use this specific paper for this technique). Then, once everything was dry, I used a foam blender to coat the entire panel with Distress MicroGlaze. The glaze has the effect of brightening up the Oxides and emphasizing their texture, and I think that the result is really beautiful!

Also for this card I die cut the background with an A2 stitched rectangle, embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder over some black cardstock, and added clear Nuvo Drops to the air bubbles and the water droplets above the whale.

And that was card number two, absolutely adorable!

For my third and last card I decided to use Nuvo Shimmer Powders. These are a water soluble product that, because of the mica powder contained in them, adds a fabulous shimmer to your projects! And, thanks to their granulation properties, they also add a ton of texture!

I started again from some Tim Holtz watercolor, previously cut at an A2 size with a stitched rectangle die. I then sprinkled my Nuvo Shimmer Powders on my background, mostly concentrating them on the bottom left area. I used Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz and Solar Flare. I spritzed them with water from a Distress Sprayer and let the water do its magic.

Once everything was dry, I glued my sentiment strip and my images to the card front, and that finished off card number three.

Let's have another look at these cute cards - I LOVE the adorable critters in the Hello Sweetums Oceans of Encouragement stamp set! They really bring a smile to my face!

Which card is your favorite? I can hardly pick, but that sweet pink shark might just have to be the winner!

And that's it for today! I really hope you enjoyed this cardmaking inspiration with the Hello Sweetums Oceans of Encouragement stamp set! A big thank you to Angie for having me as a guest designer, and to you all for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Tropical Offset Stencilled Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! It’s Angie here, and today I have a cute offset stencilled birthday card which features the newly released Funky Monkeys stamp and die set, plus the Fronds Forever stencil!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I used the Fronds Forever stencil to dab large leaves onto kraft cardstock, with white pigment ink, with the help of some paper tape. After waiting for the green to dry, I cleaned off my stencil, placed down the masking paper and I offset the stencil again, dabbing on Twisted Citron Distress Ink over top. I repeated the process with the smaller leaves on the stencil.

Afterwards, I stamped three monkeys, a few bananas, party hats, a party blower, and a cupcake, onto marker friendly paper with black ink to create a little birthday theme. I then coloured them with my favourite Shinhan markers, and cut them out with their coordinating dies.

Then, to give the card a little bit of added interest, I did some inlaid die cutting by cutting a large circle out of the leaf pattern on the cardbase, raising it up with foam adhesives, then placing it back into place on the card. I then stuck the monkeys onto the raised circle with adhesive foam.

Next, I created a little banner and heat embossed a sentiment on it saying 'go bananas - it's your special day'. The green cardstock I used for the banner was just the slightest bit too bright for the design, so I darkened it up with some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink, and stuck it down with adhesive foam, making them a little bit askew on the card.

Here is the list of supplies used to make the card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Funky Monkeys
• Hello Sweetums die set, Funky Monkeys
• Hello Sweetums stencil, Fronds Forever
• Hello Sweetums paper tape
• Craft mat
• Washi tape

Watercoloured Easter Card

Hello, friends! Thi, here. Today I am sharing some Easter inspiration with Hello Sweetums Honey Bunnies clear stamps. How sweet are these cute bunnies!

To start, I stamped my images with brown ink and colored with Arteza real brush pens. and a water brush. I then die cut them with coordinating dies and set them aside to work on my background.

For the background, I used pattern paper for the background and various dies from other companies to create the grass as well as the Happy Easter die cut. To have the “Happy Easter” stand out, I used some Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick directly on the pattern paper to darken the area behind the word die.

Lastly, I adhered everything with foam tape. I then added a few sequins to give it a little pizazz and my Easter card is complete! Thanks for reading and happy making!

Bubble Mask Mermaid Card

Hello, crafty friends! Angie, here! Today, I have the first card which is featured in the April edition of Making Cards Magazine, made with our brand new Seas the Day stamp and die set!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To begin the card, I created a mask out of some paper tape, by overlapping two layers to make it large enough to fit a medium sized circle die, then ran it through my die cutting machine. I used the negative to ink blend some 'bubbles' with Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks on watercolour paper. I then removed the mask to reveal the inked circle, and repeated the entire process with two more different sized dies.

Next up, I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp a mermaid, seahorse, rock and seashell from the Seas the Day set on watercolour paper, and then some pink coral. I then did some watercolouring with Distress Inks and cut out the images with their coordinating dies.

Then, I adhered the bubble panel onto a standard sized cardbase, and heat embossed a 'make waves' sentiment from the same set.

To finish, I used adhesive foams to stick down the die cuts, and finally I added on some clear sequins for some sparkle!

Here is the list of supplies used to make the card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Seas the Day
• Hello Sweetums die set, Seas the Day
• Hello Sweetums paper tape

Salty Kisses Shaker

Hello! Yainea, here with a new card for Hello Sweetums. Today I'm using the Seas the Day stamp and die set and Oceans of Encouragement stamps and dies.

I started by coloring the background with Distress inks and a blending tool. I cut a curvy piece of cardstock with my scissors to create the sand floor. To add some texture, I sprinkled a bit of water on top and added small dots on the sand with my markers.
I wanted to showcase that really sweet sentiment from Seas the Day so I created a shaker heart using a heart die and filled it with different sequins and gems.
Finally, I stamped, colored with alcohol markers and die cut all the images from Seas the Day and Oceans of Encouragement and adhered them to the card. As a final touch I added some clear droplets here and there.

Thanks for reading!

Fronds Forever Balloon Card

Hello, Niki here!
Today I'm showcasing a fun card featuring the Funky Monkeys set & the Fronds Forever stencil by Hello Sweetums.
Below you'll find my step by step for creating this card.

Above: I started by colouring the cute monkeys with Copic Markers.

Above: Using the Fronds Forever stencil, I smooshed distress oxides over the stencil and spritz it with water then turned it over atop a piece of watercolour cardstock.

Above: Once the stencil was removed I placed a tissue over the top to mop up any excess ink & water. I wanted a light-ish background, so this worked a treat.

Above: all the elements are die cut, dry and ready to ensemble.

I finished up with some sequins, bow and sentiment strips.
Thank you once again for stopping by, enjoy your morning/day/afternoon/evening/night.
Crafty Hugs,
Niki.

Spring Bunny Shaker Card

Hiya crafty friends! Angie here and today I have a Spring inspired shaker card which features the Honey Bunnies stamp set from the new release!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

I started with a standard Neenah Solar White 80lb cardbase, and stamped a meadow of flowers all over the bottom of the card with clear embossing ink and a flower stamp from the Bee's Knees stamp set, on an acrylic block.

Then, I sprinkled on some white embossing powder, tapped off the excess and heat set the flowers. I left it to cool down for a couple of minutes, then ink blended a rainbow of colours over the top of it, using Distress Inks and a mini blending tool. I let the ink dry, and then moved on to stamping the images. I chose the hopping bunny and super tiny flower, from the Honey Bunnies stamp set. I stamped them onto X-Press It blending card and coloured them with my trusty Shinhan markers. After the colouring was finished, I used some washi tape and their coordinating dies to cut them out with my Big Shot machine. I then used a glue pen to adhere the flower behind the bunny's ear, and left it to dry.

While that was drying, I moved onto making the shaker element! I trimmed down a separate Neenah solar white panel, and cut two flower negatives out of it with the flower die from the Bee's Knees metal die set. Afterwards, I was left with two little apertures and I used these as little windows for my shaker. I adhered to squares of acetate, just slightly larger than the windows, and adhered those down with tape runner.

Then, I stuck down two layers of adhesive foam tape, one on top of the other, and created little pockets to house the sequins. After, I made sure to leave the adhesive backers on the tape, and brushed anti static powder over the acetate, and edges of the tape to remove the static cling.

I made my own Spring inspired sequin mix with a bunch of pastel, rainbow sequins, and tipped it, evenly, into the little pockets. The aperture panel was then adhered to the cardbase, and then a fishtail banner was made, with the sentiment "to some bunny special", with yellow cardstock, and adhered to the card with foam squares.

Here is the list of supplies used to make the card:
• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Honey Bunnies
• Hello Sweetums die set, Honey Bunnies
• Hello Sweetums die set, Bee's Knees
• Craft mat
• Washi tape
• Ink blending tool + foams
• Neenah Solar White cardstock, 80 lbs

Seas the Ocean Card

Hi crafty friends, Noga here and I am so excited to share with you my first card from Hello Sweetums new release!

My card featuring  Seas the Day Clear Stamp Set and Oceans of Encouragement Clear Stamp Set.

To make this card I took an A2 panel of Bristol smooth cardstock. The background  was created by blending tumbled glass, chipped sapphire and broken china  distress oxide inks.

I spired some water onto it and soaked it up with paper towel. I also splattered white paint on the background. Than I took another A2 panel of white cardstock and create an oval window in the center of the oval die, I glued the two panels to each other with a foam tape.

Next I colored the adorable images using copic markers and glued them on them on the panel. Next I stamped a greeting from Seas the Day Clear Stamp Set on the panel using black ink.

I hope you enjoy the card I created and feel inspired to create!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone! It's Yainea here, and today is my first time on the Hello Sweetums blog. Here is how I made my bunny card using the Honey Bunnies stamps and dies.

The background of this card is easy and fun to create. I just rubbed some Tombow markers on an plastic sheet, sprayed water all over it and placed a piece of watercolor paper on top. You can repeat the process until you're happy with the result. I used alcohol markers to color all the images. To frame the scene, I used a stripe of patterned paper and a bit of grey twine.

Funky Monkeys Distress Thank You Card

Hello, friends! Thi, here! For today, I created a card using Hello Sweetums Funky Monkeys from the March release. The stamps from this company are so adorable and Kawaii (Japanese for cute), I love every stamp set I’ve gotten from them. But more than just being adorable, the stamps all stamp out beautiful and the coordinating dies come in individual dies – I don’t have to cut them apart! Haha. Small yet big deal, people. Haha.

Anyways, enough gushing – it’s time to get to the card making. I first stamped all the images with brown ink and colored with Copic markers. Next I cut them all out with coordinating dies and set them aside.

For my background, I did some ink blending with Distress Ink in Evergreen Bough, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron blending into white. I then used some water to lift some of the ink and splattered with paint. For my sentiment, I stamped it onto some green cardstock and heat embossed in white.

To assemble, I used tape runner to tape my sentiment first. Next I glued down the vines. For the monkeys, I used foam tape and arranged them into my cute scene. I glued the bananas onto the monkey with wet glue and let it all dry before popping the entire thing to an A2 card base.

And that’s it! That’s all from me and these funky monkey friends! Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to stop by Hello Sweetums and check out the rest of their release.
