Simple Yeti Shaker Card

Hi, crafty friends!

Well, it's the holiday season and time to wrap up 2018. I have one more card and video to show you for the year, and it's a fun, glittery shaker!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I die cut a circle about 8.3cm/3.26" out of some watercolour cardstock, and covered it with Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks.

I then stamped a little yeti from the Yeti Set Go stamp set, plus a little heart on his tummy. I then coloured it with markers and die cut it. Next, I used the circle die from earlier, and nested in another one that was about 7cm/2.75". I made sure that there was even spacing in between the dies, to cut out two round frames out of plain white cardstock, and then used a glue pen to adhere one onto the Distress inked circle.

Onto the frame, tiny adhesive foam squares were placed very closely together, so there weren't any gaps. I then removed the static with a powder tool and sprinkled in some Tim Holtz Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter. Then, I cut out a circle from some acetate with the 8.3cm/3.26" die.  After removing the backing sheets from the foams, the acetate circle was placed down, and then the second frame was glued on top. Lastly, the yeti was adhered on the shaker with sticky dots.

A sentiment saying 'sending fuzzy hugs' was heat embossed in silver, and the shaker was stuck down in the centre. For some sparkle, I used a glitter pen to add some shimmer on the little yeti's heart.

Here's a list of all the supplies used:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Yeti Set Go
• Hello Sweetums die set, Yeti Set Go
• Circle dies
• Craft mat

• Washi tape
• Plain white cardstock
• Mini MISTI stamping tool

Hey, crafty friends!

Ashlee
has made a card featuring our Fuzzy Felines stamp set!

Ashlee created the card by combining the Focal Point stencil by Create a Smile Stamps, with some Strawberry Sundae embossing powder by Wow. Using a die from Simon Says Stamp, the love hearts were cut out. Mounted behind it, was a piece of photo paper with Nuvo Shimmer Powder on it. Then the 'from meow to you' sentiment, cats and fish from the Hello Sweetums Fuzzy Felines set were stamped. The cute images were then coloured with Copic markers, die cut, and the little fish was popped in one of the cats hands. Lastly, a touch of sequins finished off the design.

Best Fur-iends Stencil Embossed CAS Card

Hey, crafty friends!

It's been such a long time since I've been able to get crafty, and I was itching to make a CAS (clean and simple) card featuring some stencil embossing! This technique is fantastic if you don't have embossing folders, or have a stencil design that you want to transfer onto a card.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I created a little 'sandwich' by placing down a cutting plate, our Stargazer stencil, a tan rubber embossing mat, and finally the other cutting plate. I also set my extended multipurpose platform to Tab 1, set my sandwich on top, and rolled it through my Big Shot machine, twice. Because the embossing mat puts pressure onto the card panel, I was left with a very subtle, raised pattern from the stencil.

I then stamped images from the brand new Fuzzy Felines stamp set, which is out in the shop now, with some Versafine Onyx Black, and watercoloured the images with Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Spun Sugar and Pumice Stone Distress Inks with a waterbrush. They were then die cut, and adhesive foams were placed on the back of them.

I wanted a super pastel card to match the light colours of the watercolouring, so, on the stencil embossed panel, I die cut a medium sized star and ink blended a watercolour panel with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, to go behind it. I fixed the pink panel behind the embossed panel with adhesive tape, then stuck my die cut images on top.

I heat embossed the 'best fur-tends' sentiment from the set with silver embossing powder, and cut it into a strip, just long enough to fit the width of the card. The star panel was adhered onto the cardbase, and finally, to add some sparkle, I used some Glossy Accents to adhere down three clear sequins.

Here's a list of all the supplies used:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Fuzzy Felines
• Hello Sweetums die set, Fuzzy Felines
• Hello Sweetums stencil, Stargazer

• Star die
• Craft mat

• Washi tape
• Neenah Solar White cardstock, 80 lbs
• Mini MISTI stamping tool
• Watercolour card
• Versafine Onyx Black ink pad
• Ink blending tool + sponge
• Distress Ink Mini, Antique Linen
• Distress Ink Mini, Tea Dye
• Distress Ink Mini, Spun Sugar

• Wow Metallic Silver Super Fine Embossing Powder

• EK Success Powder Tool

• Sizzix Bigshot
• Adhesive tape

Next, I cut out a snowy hill using a slider die, and adhered it to the bottom of the card, then stamped, coloured and die cut a yeti, present and Santa hat from our Yeti Set Go sets, and stuck them down onto the card with adhesive foams.

Spread the Love Mini Shaker Card

Hey, crafty friends!

I have a mini pastel shaker card, to share with you, and I'm using the brand new Spread the Love stamps and dies from our newest release.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

First, I used a 8x10 cm/3x4" rounded rectangle die to cut a watercolour panel, and I blended in some Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Ink, leaving the bottom white, to create an ombrรจ effect. Next, I mixed together some water and a very small amount of white pearlescent paint on an acrylic block, then used a paintbrush and the edge of the block to flick it onto the panel. I then stamped the bread, jam jar and knife images using a Mini MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, onto X-Press It Blending Card.

I did some super simple colouring using pastel Shinhan markers, and then moved onto

solid stamping the jam with a clear embossing pad and yellow ink. When everything was coloured, I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out, and placed adhesive foam on the back of them. I also die cut a little heart above the images using the Yeti Set Go dies.

Then, I assembled the shaker card together by using some acetate, foam adhesive and tape, and some pretty pink and clear sequins.

Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment and adhered some clear sequins to the card.

Here are the supplies used to create this card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Spread the Love
• Hello Sweetums die set, Spread the Love
• Hello Sweetums die set, Yeti Set Go

Spookysaurus Card + Changing the Theme of a Stamp Set

Hi, crafty friends!

It's been a very busy October, and I'm finally back with a new card and video, just in time for Halloween! Today, I'm showing you how to change the theme of a stamp set, using Prehistoric Playmates.

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I stamped the three dinosaurs with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them using Halloween colours. I gave them a makeover by turning them into a mummy, Frankenstein's Monster and a pumpkin. I coloured them all with some markers, and added some detail with a simple fineliner pen.

I then die cut them, and used some watercolour paper to create a background with Peacock Feathers and Black Soot Distress Inks. Watercolour paper is such a great card to ink on, it blends like butter! I adhered on the panel, then stamped the sentiment, and finally added the dinosaurs to the card with some adhesive foams.

Here's the supply list for the card!

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Prehistoric Playmates
• Neenah Solar White cardstock, 80 lbs
• X-Press It blending card
• Mini MISTI stamping tool
• Memento, Tuxedo Black ink pad
• Shinhan Touch Twin marker, CG9, Cool Grey

Masked Unicorn Card

Hello, crafty friends!

It's been such a long time since I got crafty and made a card, so today, I got my ink on and I have a unicorn card to show you! It features some bright marker colouring, plus some super easy masking!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

I started by creating some sunny yellow stripes on the bottom of a cardbase, with washi tape, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. I love this colour, it really makes me think of summer!

On some marker friendly X-Press It Blending Card, I stamped and cut out a mask of a unicorn from the Sparkle Bright set, so that a rainbow image could be stamped behind it. A fun little sentiment made this card extra cute, and 'magical'. :P

I used some Shinhan Touch Twin brush markers (my favourite!) to make the colour scheme bright. Finally, I adhered the panel onto the cardbase and added some sparkle with star sequins.

Here's the supply list for today's card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Sparkle Bright
• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Prehistoric Playmates

Inlaid Die Cut Card

Hi, crafty friends! I'm back on the blog with a new card and YouTube video! Today, I'm sharing with you, how I made an inlaid die-cut card with smooshing Distress Inks! I've been a bit obsessed with rainbows, lately, can you tell? ๐Ÿ˜›

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

I stamped and watercoloured the paintbrush from our Crafty Companions set, and also die cut a stitched rectangle out of some plain white cardstock. I bought a new nested star die set, which I just had to use for this card, and I cut out some stars of varying sizes from watercolour paper, then smooshed them into some watered down Distress Inks.

Next, in the stitched rectangle panel, I cut out more stars of the same sizes, and placed the watercoloured ones into their places, like a puzzle. With the help of a Mini MISTI, I stamped on the sentiment, then with some foam, and lots of tape runner, I placed down the finished panel onto a plain Neenah Solar White cardbase.

Here's the supply list for this card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Crafty Companions

Distress Watercolour Rainbow Card

Hi, crafty friends!

I'm back with another card and video. It's been such a long time since I got crafty and posted a video on YouTube! Today I'm sharing with you a Distress watercolour rainbow card, and I'm using stamps and dies from our newly released Sparkle Bright set! You can get yours today at hellosweetums.com!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start the card, I stamped a rainbow onto watercolour card, and used Distress inks and my waterbrush to colour in the bands. I left it to dry, and in the meantime ink blended a sky onto a Neenah cardbase, with Tumbled Glass. Once the rainbow was dry, I used the coordinating die and some washi tape to cut it out.

I then cut out some clouds from white cardstock and vellum, and adhered then down, alongside some thin white panels, over the sky I had created.

Then, I white heat embossed a 'have a beautiful day' sentiment, and cut out some fishtails on a banner. I mounted everything to the card using some foam squares and tape runner, and finished the card with some sequins, glitter pen, and some tiny blushy cheeks on the clouds.

Here's the list of supplies I used to create the card:

• Hello Sweetums stamp set, Sparkle Bright
• Hello Sweetums die set, Sparkle Bright
• Neenah Solar White cardbase
• Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass
• Distress Ink, Picked Raspberry
• Distress Ink, Wild Honey
• Distress Ink, Twisted Citron
• Vellum sheets, non heat resistant
• White cardstock
• Wow clear embossing pad
• Wow embossing powder, Opaque Bright White
• Heat tool
• Sticky Thumb tape runner
• Pretty Pink Posh sequins, Sparkling Clear
• Glossy Accents
• Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen, Clear

And that's it for today's card, thank you so much for reading!

Card for Crafty Friends with Laura Sterckx

Hello, crafty friends!

Our friend, Laura Sterckx, from MakingCardsIsFun.com recently made a super cute card featuring our brand new Crafty Companion stamps and coordinating dies! How exciting is that!?

She even filmed a video tutorial on how she made this adorable card. You can watch it below!

Laura started out by stamping a few images from the craft-filled set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then coloured them with some Copics. They were then cut out with their coordinating dies.

Next, using some beautiful patterned paper, strips were cut, and adhered to the cardbase. The images were then stuck down with foam squares, onto a white die cut circle. A pink banner was then placed on top, and lastly, for some sparkle, some Nuvo drops! What a lovely card, thank you Laura! ๐Ÿ’–

Glittery Mirror Stamped Card

Hello crafty friends! It's Angie, here. I'm back with another card and video, this time featuring some mirror stamping, plus, a sneak peek of our Sparkle Bright set! ๐Ÿ’–

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

Before I started the card, I knew I wanted to do some mirror stamping with a pastel/light coloured theme. For this technique, I like to use Versafine Onyx Black, as it's perfect for detail.

To start the card, I used a solid, clear stamp, which was large enough to fit another stamp on it, and placed it into the corner of a Mini MISTI. I then placed a unicorn stamp on top of it and stamped the image onto the solid stamp, twice, to get it nice and juicy. Then working quickly, I placed in some marker friendly paper and stamped as usual, stamping an original unicorn on the front, and also transferring the reverse image on the back of the paper.

Then, it was time to colour them with markers, and die cut them. Next, it was easy to flip the reverse unicorn over and line the die up with the original on the back. That way, you don't have to use a light and guess where the image is.

For this card, I thought it'd be cute to create a little banner, and have a little polkadot panel showing through. Next, it was time to cut out some strips of white, woodgrain cardstock, and adhere some baker's twine and 3D foam squares, for extra dimension. For the final touches, I added some sparkle with a glitter pen and sequins! :)

Here's the supply list for the card!

• Hello Sweetums stamp, Sparkle Bright: **TO BE RELEASED**
• Hello Sweetums die, Sparkle Bright: **TO BE RELEASED**
• X-Press It Blending Card
• Neenah Solar White card

Under the Sea Slider Card

Hey friends! I hope you've all been up to some crafty fun, I know I have! I really wanted to do some ink blending with something interactive, so I have a little under the sea slider card for you all today. :)

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for all the products used.

To start off this card, I grabbed some watercolour card, and some Distress Inks. It's so fun using this combination, as the texture of the cardstock and ink just blend so well together. The colours that made it onto this card were Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio - such a dreamy mix!

While the inks were drying, I stamped some critters and plants from our Oceans of Encouragement stamp set, with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink and a Mini MISTI. Then, I coloured them with Shinhan Touch Twin Markers and die cut the images.

Once the 'sea' panel was dry, I wanted to create some 'sand'. With some Antique Linen Distress ink, I quickly covered another strip of watercolour cardstock. I have a handy slider die set, which has a nice little wave shape to one of them, and used it to cut out a wavy sand bed, wider than the blue panel. I stuck it down with tape runner, and trimmed off the excess.

Next, it was time to create the slider part! I used a small slider die to cut a little slot in the blue part of the panel, and flipped it over. That way, I could place down a 5 cent coin in the centre of the slot, and create a little 'track' around it with adhesive foam. Once the coin was secure, I placed down an adhesive foam on the front of the coin, so it poked out of the slot. I ended up adding two layers of the foam, to give the card some more dimension, and make sure the coin had enough room to slide.

With a leftover piece of cardstock that matched the blue/green ombrรฉ, I adhered it down to cover the back of the slot, otherwise you'd be able to see the cardbase behind it.

Because I knew the card would be a bit bulky, I decided to stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card with Versafine Onyx Black, which said 'swell job'. Next, it was time to assemble everything! I adhered down the critters and plants with sticky dots, then the entire panel with loads of adhesive foam.

To finish the card, I added a little bit of Glossy Accents, for bubbles, to make it look like the shark and turtle were 'talking' once you slide him over. :D

Distress Stencil Background Card

Hey, crafty friends! It's Angie, back on the blog. I have another card and video to show you - this time, featuring some stencil blending!

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for links to all the products used.

To start out, I taped down a Heidi Swapp triangle stencil onto a piece of white cardstock, and sponged on some Spun Sugar Distress Ink with a mini blending tool. Then, using a round die, I cut out a circle from it. How cute did the little triangles turned out!? Then, I stuck some adhesive foams to the back of the circle, and placed it in the centre of the card.

I felt that the background might be a bit too busy, so to tone it down a little, I used a smaller circle die to cut out some vellum. Not sure I'd use it, I set it aside.

Next, I used a Mini MISTI to stamp some little scissors from the Crafty Companions stamp set, and coloured it in with my favourite Shinhan Touch Twin brush markers. After the ink dried, I used the coordinating die to cut it out.

For some height, I placed on some adhesive foams and stuck the scissors to the vellum. Because the vellum circle is clear, I adhered it onto the stencilled circle with a clear sticky dot.

Then, it was time for some heat embossing! I love this part. I cut a strip of hot pink cardstock, and thought it'd pop against the light pink and purple. On the cardstock, I brushed on some anti-static powder with a powder tool, and stamped a sentiment with a slow drying clear pad. Then, I sprinkled on some embossing powder, and melted it with a heat tool.

Finally, I stuck down the sentiment with some foam adhesives, and tape runner, and glued down some clear sparkling sequins!

Sparkly Baby Shower Card

Hey, crafty friends! I'm back with another card and video, making a card for a special little someone who will be saying hello to the world very, very soon. This card features some serious sparkle and cuteness! :)

Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, it shows how this card was made! There's also a supply list at the end of this post for links to all the products used.

You might not know, but I'm really into budgeting and snapping up bargains when it comes to crafting, as most products can be super expensive. My favourite places to go to are Kmart, Daiso and the dollar shop. Their products are super cheap and have great designs! For this card, I found some cute patterned paper and these beautiful foil chipboard letters which I just had to have - at $3, how could you not!? :P

To make the card, I knew I wanted to use soft, pastel colours and thought that some clouds would express the perfect 'newborn' feel. For the cardbase, I adhered a thick strip of patterned paper with tape runner, and set that aside.

Next, using a Mini MISTI, I clear stamped the word 'beautiful' from one of our new stamp sets, Sparkle Bright, onto a separate panel and heat embossed the sentiment using some metallic silver embossing powder. I wanted the wording of the card to be silver, to pair with the brightness of the card.

With the help of a  T-ruler, I stuck down the iridescent letters, which gave some dimension to the card, and extra shine. I just love how in certain lighting, you can see little rainbows!

In the Sparkle Bright stamp set, there is a little solid cloud, which I used to tie in with the ones on the patterned paper. When it comes to solid stamping, I try to avoid staining, so I like to use a clear ink first, and then the coloured. After a wipe clean, the stamps look good as new. :) After stamping two clouds and a tiny smiley face from Anything is Popsicle, I cut them out with the coordinating die.

I then stuck them down onto the panel with tape runner and adhesive foam, and stuck them panel onto the cardbase. For some added sparkle, I adhered a thin strip of glitter card between the panel and the patterned paper. And finally, to finish the card, I rounded the two bottom corners with a punch!
